Adrienne Gaskell's Journal 2006

Shopping for new materials for the "Fringed Bracelet" class (Pinecrest Gardens, April 22nd) has been very fun. I found some wonderful, round semi-precious stone beads to be used in place of the lampwork beads on some of the new designs. I now have 7 different color combinations and hope to also have at least one necklace kit to chose from. Although, depending on materials, the price varies most will be offered at the $55 price. I've scheduled the "Sirpal Briolette Necklace" class for June 10th and already have students signed up before I was even able to send out an email. I hope to offer the"Flower Lariat" Saturday, June 24th. These will probably be my only Miami classes for awhile as I will be very busy teaching in Sonoma in August and Philadelphia in October, and then my winter show season starts.

With the winter show season coming to an end I have had time to schedule some new classes. Last week was "Introduction to Beadweaving" where everyone made "Egytian Collar" necklaces. Next month I will be teaching a "Basic Jewelry Construction" class at Pinecrest Gardens which I still have a few seats available. I am planning of offering a "Spiral Briolette" class as soon as my schedule allows.

It's been a busy couple of months. I know, so what else is new? But two art shows back to back in January really wore my little "beading" fingers to the bone. But, I think, the results were worth it. The reactions to my new "Couture Collection" were amazing. I've never heard so many "WOWs" expressed by so many people. If you didn't get to see some of my new designs in person, (they still aren't on the web site) come by the Shake-A-Leg Miami Art by the Bay show February 18-20 in Coconut Grove, and I promise to have some new creations then.
